… About the April 28 Hailstorm

Although only a few areas of Louisville were affected by the April 28, 2012, hailstorm, ours was one of them! Our damage wasn’t too bad: some holes in some siding, lots of dents in everything metal (including the cars, gutters, etc) and enough damage to the roof that we need a new one. Here are some photos (click for a larger view):

The holes are hard to see but there are quite a few of them!

This section took the biggest “hit.”

Dents are hard to see in photos, but this one is about the size of a baseball.

The front windshield of the Saturn did not react well to the hail.

These are just a few we collected about an hour after they fell. It rained pretty hard during that hour so these were even bigger before that!

(Note: This was posted so long after the hailstorm because we waited until insurance appraisals had been done. We didn’t want to say the damage “wasn’t too bad” until it had been checked out and we knew we insurance would be covering most of the repairs!)
