Wow! Remember just three days ago when there were two yellow squash and one zucchini and they were only 3-4″ long? You can imagine our surprise when we checked on them today and the zucchini was a foot long! The yellow squash didn’t grow quite as quickly, but they’re already in the 6-8″ range. We also found one more of each starting to grow. It still seems like a lot of greenery and flowers for less than a half-dozen squash, but we’ll just have to wait and see how many we end up getting.
So here’s today’s harvest, which Pete inspected (so did Leo, but he was being camera-shy).
And thanks to Erica for our dinner — I mean dessert! (Nord’s Bakery does make a yummy cake!)
I love free squash!
I’m so jealous of your garden! Hope you both had great birthdays. My parents leave Monday, so I’ll return to the world soon…
