When we were watering tonight we found one zucchini and two yellow squash! They’re in the 3-4″ range, which is amazing since they weren’t there just a couple days ago. We still have a ton of blossoms but most of them are just dying without producing a squash. I told Rob I wished we could eat squash leaf stems since ours are huge ones that look like celery. He pointed out how prickly they are and didn’t think that was a very good idea — but hey, people eat cactus, right?!!
We had another big lettuce harvest today. We left it in the plastic grocery bag that we used when we picked it so you could get a better idea of how much we’re picking (and eating) every few days. At least that was the idea, but you still really can’t tell. You’ll just have to trust us when we tell you the bag is full!
And here’s how everything else is looking as of June 27:
